Alexandre Farto, better recognized as Vhils, entered the world in Portugal in 1987 and spent his formative years on the fringes of Lisbon. His educational journey led him to the University of the Arts in London, where he honed his skills at Central Saint Martins and Byam Shaw in Fine Art Skills and Practices. Growing up in Portugal, he was shaped by the aftermath of the revolution, witnessing firsthand the profound impact it had on the landscape. The Carnation Revolution of 1974 reverberated through the outskirts of Lisbon and across Portugal, leaving its mark on the walls and communities he knew.
